BillShot

Last updated: April 20, 2025

BillShot (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is developed and operated by BitPropel. This Privacy Policy describes how BillShot collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application available on Google Play.

1. Information We Collect

BillShot is designed to help you create and manage invoices and bills. The information we collect falls into two categories:

Information You Provide

  • Business details — your business name, address, logo, and contact information used to generate invoices.
  • Client information — names, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses of your clients that you enter into the app.
  • Invoice data — line items, quantities, prices, taxes, notes, and payment terms you create within the app.
  • Account credentials — email address and password if you create an account for cloud backup and sync.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information — device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for debugging and compatibility.
  • Usage analytics — anonymized interaction data (screens visited, features used) to help us improve the app.
  • Crash reports — diagnostic data when the app encounters an error, used solely for stability improvements.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate, store, and export your invoices and billing documents.
  • Sync your data across devices when you are signed in to your account.
  • Send invoice PDFs or links to your clients on your behalf (only when you request it).
  • Improve app stability, performance, and the overall user experience.
  • Respond to support requests or bug reports you submit.
  • Send important app updates and security notifications.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sell it to any third party.

3. Data Storage & Security

All invoice data you create is stored locally on your device by default. If you opt in to cloud backup, your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest using AES-256 on Firebase infrastructure operated by Google.

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • End-to-end encryption for data in transit
  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest
  • Strict Firebase Security Rules limiting access to authenticated users only
  • Regular security audits and dependency updates

While we take every precaution, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — with Firebase (Google) for cloud storage and authentication. These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements.
  • Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business transfer — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data would transfer under the same privacy protections.
  • With your consent — when you explicitly direct us to share your information (e.g., sending an invoice to a client).

5. Third-Party Services

BillShot integrates with the following third-party services:

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

6. App Permissions

BillShot may request the following device permissions:

  • Storage — to save generated invoice PDFs to your device.
  • Camera / Photo Library — to add your business logo or client photos to invoices (optional).
  • Internet — for cloud backup, sync, and sending invoices by email.

All permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.

7. Data Retention

Local data is retained on your device until you uninstall the app or manually delete records. Cloud-synced data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all cloud data is permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

BillShot is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion— request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to certain types of data processing.
  • Withdraw consent — opt out at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, providing an in-app notification. Your continued use of BillShot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
